School governing bodies are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. Together with the headteacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, they set the school's aims and policies.

Chinthurst Educational Trust Governing Body 2016-17

 

Chinthurst Educational Trust Limited is controlled by a board of Governors under the chairmanship of Mrs Maxine Hulme. Mrs Hulme may be contacted, c/o Chinthurst School, 52 Tadworth Street, Tadworth, Surrey KT20 5QZ. The Governing Body oversees the external management of the School.

Miss Lisa Page -  Is the Vice-Chair of the Board and is the Governor responsible for Safeguarding (child protection), the Pre-Prep and the EYFS.

Dr Brendan Stones (Deputy Head, Reigate Grammar School) - Dr Stones joined the board in 2016. Dr Stones is the Deputy Headmaster at Reigate Grammar School.  

Mr Richard Alton (Deputy Head, Epsom College) – Mr Alton joined the board in 2016. Mr Alton is the Deputy Headmaster at Epsom College and sits on the Education Committee.

Mr Nicholas Smith (Director of Music, St. John's) – Mr Smith joined the Board in 2013. Mr Smith is Director of Music at St. John’s, Leatherhead and sits on the Education Committee.

Mr Chris Dixon – Chris joined the Board in 2012 as a parent-Governor. He is a commercial property solicitor, formerly working in the City and now based in Crawley. Chris heads the Policy & Development Committee responsible for the governance and strategy of the School. He also sits on the General Purposes Committee.

Mrs Fiona Hawker – Former Chinthurst parent who’s children went on to attend St. John’s. An accountant, Fiona joined the Board in 2014 sitting on the Finance Committee.

Mr Mark Robinson – Mark joined the Board as one of the original parent-Governors in 2012. His four sons have attendedChinthurst over the last 18 years, all having moved on to St John’s, Leatherhead.  He is an entrepreneur in the IT sector and sits on the Policy & Development Committee with responsibility for marketing.
